With the second overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft, the LA Lakers selected Duke guard Brandon Ingram.
Ingram, 6-foot-9, 197-pounds, joins fellow lottery picks Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell to form a nice young trio for the Lakers in the post Kobe Bryant era.
He gives the Lakers a versatile player who creates match up problems regardless of which position he ends playing. He also gives them another 3-point threat, as he shot over 40% last season and averaged 23 points in the NCAA Tournament.
Ingram is the third straight Blue Devil drafted in the Top 3 in the last 3 season. In 2014, Jabari Parker was selected #2 by the Milwaukee Bucks. In 2015 Jahlil Okafor was drafted #3 by the Philadelphia 76ers.
