http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/news?slug=ycn-10947470 This is what would happen if Duke and Unc current pros played a game against each other. ====> This is a funny read and plays into some stereotypes of Duke, Unc and some players. Besides the ending is good

You would think this would help Jefferson with his decision, since Leslie returning would cut into his PT. I think we need this kid, especially with Gbinije leaving. Any word from anyone on when he may announce?

He’s in critical condition. At 91 years, it’s easy to say he’s had a great life, but still here’s some vibes for getting better. He has done a lot for not just Carolina, but for the NC education system. So as a native North Carolinian…and as a die hard Duke fan…I send my best. http://www.witn.com/home/headlines/Former_UNC_President_William_Friday_In_Critical_Condition_151752875.html…

I’ve spent some time looking at some non-Duke websites to get some reactions to the Amile Jefferson signing. There seems to be a strong consensus. Duke will squander Jefferson’s talents by having him set screens for four seasons, or until he transfers. And Jefferson better brush up on his foreign-language skills, the better for that career in Belarus. The name Lance Thomas is invoked…

“…it’s a Coach K thing — and his stuff works with elite players. Why? I don’t know; I’m not an elite player. But Kobe Bryant is, and before the 2008 Olympics he said he had been waiting years for the chance to play for Coach K. After the 2008 Olympics? Bryant shared a short conversation he had with Krzyzewski, a conversation that had him primed to produce. “He wanted me to be who I am — be…

With the Amile Jefferson commitment yesterday, it is time for Duke to change the perception of their basketball program to lure recruits to Durham for the all important 2013 class. The national perception of Duke it that they are a guard oriented program (3 guard lineups for 9 out of the last 10 years) and all the Duke big men are on the floor for is to set picks for the guards 25-30 ft from…

He won’t take charges..and admits it! He said he learned it was a bad idea “at a young age”, so he would never have played for K. Love this from him… —Quote— “Shane [Battier] (http://espn.go.com/nba/player/_/id/976/shane-battier) does a great job taking charges,” Bryant said. “Fish actually does a great job taking charges too. … It’s a skill. Our last basketball national championship came from a group of “alarmingly unathletic” group of players in 2010. This group displayed a love for each other and the game. They bonded as a team and played to each other’s strengths. No true Duke fan really believed that at the beginning of the season that they had a chance to win a National Championship. It was not until the Maryland game that…

We’ve talked a lot on this site about the passing performance (or lack thereof) from this year’s Duke team. All told, it was one of the least assist-heavy squad’s in K’s tenure, with only 48.4% of all field goals coming off of the pass. This analysis breaks down the passing a little bit to see how our guys scored the ball last year. Pomeroy took a look at this…

According to this article, Ryan Kelly is listed as a 5-star recruit that hasn’t lived up to his billing. Was he as good out the gate as we would have wished? Probably not, but he has steadily improved each season and was quite possible the most important player on the team down the stretch. Clearly Austin Rivers was the best player, but Kelly’s contribution to this team goes way beyond points scored. I’m fairly sure that Duke would have made a d…

Rodney Hood transferring OUT of Mississippi State. He is listed as a 5 star Small Forward 6’7 180. That is coming out of high school of course. This tells me that Gbinije and Murphy aren’t the immediate (and maybe even not the long term) answer. We c …

From ESPN: When Tony Parker learned he’d been selected for the 2012 McDonald’s All-American Game, he remembered something his friend Quinn Cook had told him after his McDonald’s All-American experience in 2011. “Quinn said we get free McDonald’s for a year,” said Parker. “Is that true?” When told he’d been duped by the current Duke freshman, Parker laughed and said, “Are you serious? He got me, he got me.”I blame Quinn if…
