For the first time in its history, the Associated Press has released an all-time top 100 ranking of teams based on its weekly polls, and the Duke men’s basketball program checked in at No. 3 on the chart.
The AP developed a formula that awarded a team one point for each time it has appeared in the poll since 1949 and two points for each time it was ranked No. 1. Since making its first appearance in the AP poll on Dec. 10, 1951, Duke has been ranked in 67.6 percent of all AP polls. From 2000-09, the Blue Devils appeared in 99.0 percent of all AP polls.
