The 2016 All ACC teams as voted by the media were announced today and three Blue Devils were honored.

Senior corner Breon Borders and sophomore linebacker Ben Humphreys were named Third Team All-ACC.

Borders had 2 interceptions and 11 pass breakups this season to go along with 27 tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and a fumble recovery.  He put up those numbers in just 9 games, missing the final three games of the season due to injury.  Borders finishes his Duke career with 12 interceptions and 34 pass breakups.

Humphreys finished 2016 with 106 tackles, 11 for a loss, 4.5 sacks, an interception, and 2 fumble recoveries.

The other half of Duke’s linebacker duo, redshirt freshman Joe Giles-Harris, was an honorable mention honoree.  In his first season playing college football Giles-Harris started every game for Duke.  He led the Blue Devils with 107 total tackles.  Giles-Harris also tallied 9.5 tackles for a loss, 4 sacks, an interception, and a fumble recovery.

Ben Humphreys and Joe Giles-Harris will lead the defense over the next couple years and will most likely be receiving these honors again.
