The odds have to be that someday Wake Forest will again win a women's basketball game against Duke. But from where the Deacons are sitting right now, that probably looks like a long way off. Haley Peters had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the sophomore's first career double-double, leading four players in double figures as the Blue Devils walloped the Deacons 75-43 Thursday night for their...

Playing between high-profile home games against No. 3 Connecticut and archrival No. 23 North Carolina, No. 5 Duke got an easier assignment against Wake Forest and passed it with no trouble Thursday night. Haley Peters had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the sophomore's first career double-double, leading four players in double figures as the Blue Devils walloped the Deacons 75-43.

Inviting the Connecticut women to visit is a little like hosting the Mongol Horde: there's a good chance your village is going to get torched.

Nobody beats No. 5 Duke like this. Not this badly, and not on its home court. Well, nobody except for No. 3 Connecticut. The Blue Devils had their 34-game winning streak at Cameron Indoor Stadium snapped in decisive fashion, missing 19 consecutive shots over roughly 12 minutes in a 61-45 loss to UConn on Monday night.

No. 3 Connecticut traveled to Cameron Indoor Stadium and made itself right at home inside No. 5 Duke's famously noisy arena. Again. UConn, the last visiting team to win at Cameron, snapped the Blue Devils' 34-game home winning streak with a 61-45 victory Monday night, forcing Duke to miss 19 consecutive shots during one stretch.

Last season, UConn knocked Duke out of the NCAA tournament in the Elite Eight. Clemson coach Itoro Coleman doesn't expect to endure many more blowouts from No. 5 Duke. In two seasons, the former Tiger standout guard has watched her program lose 92-37 and, on Friday night, 81-37. She swears better days are coming for Clemson women's basketball. "We're not going to be this Clemson team forever," Coleman said.

Duke coach Joanne P. McCallie said her team found a way to get better despite another runaway over Clemson. McCallie thought the fifth-ranked Blue Devils gave up way too many points in their 80-72 showdown victory over No. 8 Maryland last Monday, so she was especially pleased that her players' defense never wavered in an 81-37 victory over the Tigers on Friday night.

The women had an impressive victory over Maryland, winning 80-72 behind strong games from Chelsea Gray and Haley Peters, who scored 17 and 21 respectively. Here's more from GoDuke.com.

No. 5 Duke and No. 8 Maryland looked pretty similar on the stat sheet, and played just as evenly on the court. Except for two key differences: The Blue Devils were rebounding with a vengeance, and down the stretch, they had Chelsea Gray. Gray scored seven of her 17 points in the final 3 minutes and had 11 assists in Duke's 80-72 victory over the Terrapins on Sunday, its 10th straight win.
