It had been nearly a year since Duke's previous Atlantic Coast Conference loss, and coach Joanne McCallie didn't feel the need to lament the occasion. After No. 5 Duke fell to eighth-ranked Maryland 63-61 on Sunday, McCallie was more focused on making sure the loss wouldn't linger longer than a single day.

Before leading her team against fifth-ranked Duke, Maryland coach Brenda Frese was honored for earning her 300th career victory earlier in the week. No. 301 was far sweeter. "It's a no-brainer. There's nothing better than beating Duke," Frese declared Sunday, minutes after the No. 8 Terrapins pinned a 63-61 defeat on the Blue Devils before an appreciative crowd of 15,150.

Sophomore Richa Jackson will miss the rest of the 2011-12 season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee, the team announced today. Aerial Wilson's strong start gave Virginia Tech an early lead. She just couldn't get help her team hold on to it. Wilson scored 15 of her 19 points in the first half of the Hokies' 67-45 loss at No. 5 Duke on Wednesday night. Wilson started the game 4 for 6 from the floor, including 3 for 3 on 3-pointers, but was 4 for 21 the rest of the way.

Duke got another win while losing another player as well. Tricia Liston scored 17 points to help the No. 5 Blue Devils beat Virginia Tech 67-45 on Wednesday night. Chelsea Gray added 15 points for the Blue Devils (22-3, 13-0 Atlantic Coast Conference), who lost starting forward Richa Jackson to a left knee injury in the first half.

Duke women continue to roll, beating Florida State 67-57. Haley Peters had 18 while Elizabeth Williams had 13 and Shay Selby 11.

Duke made the tough shots that Florida State didn't, and that was enough for the fifth-ranked Blue Devils to stay undefeated in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Haley Peters scored 18 points Sunday to lead the Blue Devils over the Seminoles 67-57. And Peters got most them against Florida State's 6-3 Natasha Howard.

Chelsea Gray went into her three-minute offense and helped No. 5 Duke avoid a shocking, last-minute upset. With the Blue Devils leading 61-60, Gray scored eight of their last 10 points in that span and they beat Boston College 71-62 on Thursday night. Going into the game, the sophomore guard had 37 of the 116 points Duke scored in the last three minutes this season.

In Boston College's season filled with lopsided conference losses, the Eagles finally have something positive to focus on despite suffering their school-record 11th straight defeat. In what looked like it could be a huge mismatch, the Eagles took No. 5 Duke to the wire before falling 71-62 on Thursday night.

Duke beat Wake Forest for the 37th straight time Thursday, winning 75-43. Haley Peters and Richa Jackson both had double-doubles, with Peters getting 18 and 11 and Jackson 11 and 11. With the win, Duke moves to 18-3 and 9-0 in the ACC. Here's more from GoDuke.com.
