Booker T. Washington (Miami) defensive tackle Elkino Watson performed well at the Rutgers camp in June, and now is being recruited hard by the Scarlet Knights. The 6-foot-3, 275-pound Watson told ScarletReport.com he does not hold a Rutgers offer, but believes one could be coming. He talked about the Scarlet Knight, and whether he would take an official visit to see the school again.

Wednesday marked the first day college coaches could begin calling high school prospects. It also marks the first weekend that college coaches can go out to high school games for evaluations. Memphis Central tight end Cameron Clear got four phone calls from different colleges on Wednesday, but it was the first call that apparently impressed the Tennessee native the most.

All the schools on Hakeem Flowers’ possible official visit list have one thing in common. “All of them stand out because they all are recruiting me the hardest,” Flowers said. “I talk to all of them almost every day. I know they all really want me and that's something that sticks in your head.” Flowers still denies any timetable for committing and plans to narrow down his list by mid-season.

After being named the conference newcomer of the year as a sophomore, The Fort Bend Bush High School star said passes his way became few and far between last season.
