Tonight was a big night for Duke Basketball as they had three first round picks in the 2017 NBA Draft.
With the third overall pick, the Boston Celtics selected Jayson Tatum. Tatum is the sixth Blue Devil to be selected #3 overall.
It wasn’t long after that Luke Kennard heard his name called as the #12 pick by the Detroit Pistons.
Harry Giles was selected #20 overall by the Sacramento Kings.
With those three selections, Duke now has had 32 first round selections under Coach K in NBA Draft history.
With the first pick of the second round (31st overall), the New Orleans Pelicans made Frank Jackson their pick.
With those four selections, Duke should have at least 27 players in the NBA at the start of next season.
Amile Jefferson and Matt Jones were not selected but should get looks in the NBA Summer League and training camps this fall.
