’Tis the holiday season, but there were some Blue Devils who were not in the giving mood yesterday in the NBA.
In Miami Mason Plumlee and Gerald Henderson faced off against Luol Deng and Justise Winslow. Plumlee and Henderson combined for 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists. Gerald also officially welcomed Justise to the NBA with a SportsCenter Top 10 dunk on the rookie:
The rookie would get his revenge however as the Miami Heat beat the Portland Trail Blazers 116-109. Deng and Winslow combined for 20 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals, and a blocked shot.
Kyrie Irving made his season debut and was gifted Jahlil Okafor and the Philadelphia 76ers in his return. Irving finished with 12 points, a rebound, 4 assists, and 2 steals in 17 minutes of action. Big Jah had 9 points and 8 rebounds as the 76ers lost to the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-86.
Jabari Parker had 7 points, 6 rebounds, an assist, and a steal as the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Phoenix Suns 101-95.
In D-League action, Ryan Kelly had 23 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocked shots as the Los Angeles D-Fenders fell to the Rio Grand Valley Vipers 125-119.
