The Duke Blue Devils got impressive debut performances from freshmen Jalen Johnson and DJ Steward as they got past Coppin State, 81-71. Steward led all scorers with 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting and added nine rebounds in the win. Fellow freshman Jalen Johnson was perfect from the floor, shooting 8-8 on his way to 19 points and 19 rebounds. Johnson added 4 blocks in the game as well. Anthony Tarke and Dejuan Clayton helped the Eagles keep it close, as they each scored 22 points in the loss.
