Barrett is a 6’6 SF from Montverde Academy in Florida. This past summer in the FIBA U19 World Championship, he lead Team Canada to the gold medal over Team USA coached by Kentucky’s John Calipari. He finished with 38 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists as Team Canada won 99-87.
R.J. Barrett joins other 2019 Top 10 commits Cam Reddish and Tre Jones to give Duke one of the top classes for 2019. Barrett makes back-to-back classes in which Duke landed the #1 player in the country. This past summer Marvin Bagley III reclassified and joined Duke for the 2017-18 season.
