The class of 2017 has been a hot topic for Duke basketball recruiting over the past few weeks.

With the program extending scholarship offers in the past two months to Wendell Carter, Gary Trent Jr., Trae Young, D.J. Harvey, and now Mohamed Bamba, we’re getting a good idea of the players who will be the biggest priorities for Mike Krzyzewski, Jeff Capel, and the rest of the Duke coaching staff over the next couple years.

The folks over at Courtside Films, who do a great job putting together highlight videos and mixtapes, have released many new mixtapes in the past week, including a few that focus on some of the 2017 prospects being targeted by the Blue Devils.

While it’s important to always take highlight videos with a grain of salt, particularly those from AAU and summer league games, this should give you an idea of the potential of these players and why they have so much interest from the Duke program.

Gary Trent, Jr. – 5-star shooting guard who’s regarded as one of the best scorers in the class of 2017.

Mohamed Bamba – 5-star power forward with freakish athleticism and length who is the latest player to receive an offer from Duke.

Michael Porter Jr. – versatile 5-star small forward who’s still in the running to be the No. 1 overall player in the 2017 class.

Trae Young – the player who seems to be emerging as Coach K’s choice to be Duke’s point guard in the class of 2017.

During his playing days, David perfected his role on his basketball team as being the guy who would hold everyone on the bench back after a teammate would make a clutch shot. He once played N.C. State legend David Thompson in a game of H-O-R-S-E. David won.
