Luke Kennard & Chase Jeter to Participate in USA Basketball Mini-Camp in October

USA BasketballFuture Blue Devils Luke Kennard and Chase Jeter have accepted invitations to participate in the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team Mini-Camp next month.

The two talented high schoolers are part of a group of 53 individuals who will be traveling to the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Co., October 4 & 5 to take part in the camp, which helps the national basketball program evaluate and prepare for upcoming international tournaments.

Kennard and Jeter both represented the United States this past summer as members of the USA U18 National Team that won gold at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship.

Along with Kennard and Jeter, who are part of Duke’s 2015 recruiting class, a few other invitees for the mini-camp are being targeted by Mike Krzyzewski and his staff, including 2015 5-star center Diamond Stone, who has received an offer from the Blue Devils.

Stone was part of the USA U17 World Championship team that won gold in Dubai earlier this summer.

And among the invitees from the class of 2017, point guard Troy Brown, Duke’s first offer for the class, will be making the trip over from Las Vegas to Colorado Springs to take part in the mini-camp.

USA Basketball has been a dominant presence at the junior international tournaments over the past few years, and hopefully these young guys with connections to the Duke program will be part of continuing that standard of dominance.

During his playing days, David perfected his role on his basketball team as being the guy who would hold everyone on the bench back after a teammate would make a clutch shot. He once played N.C. State legend David Thompson in a game of H-O-R-S-E. David won.
