Team USA Beats the World in 2017 Nike Hoops Summit

Team USA defeated the World Team 98-87 last night at the Moda Center in Portland, OR.

Duke recruits and commits helped Team USA to improve to 14-6 in the Nike Hoops Summit.

Wendell Carter Jr. finished with 7 points, 7 rebounds, a steal, and a blocked shot in 17 minutes of action. Gary Trent Jr. totaled 9 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, and a steal in 23 minutes.

Duke recruiting targets were also on display last night:

  • Mohamed Bamba had 7 points, 5 rebounds, and a steal in 16 minutes of action.
  • Trevon Duval had 6 points and 3 assists in limited action. He suffered an injury early in the first and and did not return until the second half.
  • Kevin Knox finished with 4 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal.

Next up for everyone will be the Jordan Brand Classic which takes place Fri. April 14 at 8pm EST.

After that it will be waiting on decisions from Duval (by end of April), Knox (mid April), and Bamba (no dates given). Duke looks to be in good standing with each one.
