Who Will Be the Next Recruit to Commit to Duke Basketball?

Now that the 2016 recruiting class is officially complete with the addition of Marques Bolden, we can look ahead to the 2017 class.

Duke has several offers out there already according to BlueDevilLair.com:

  • Troy Brown, PG
  • Trae Young, PG
  • Tremont Waters, PG
  • Hamidou Diallo, SG
  • Gary Trent Jr., SG
  • D.J. Harvey, SG
  • Kevin Knox, SF
  • DeAndre Ayton, PF
  • Mohamed Bamba, PF
  • Wendell Carter, PF
  • Deng Gak, C

As you can see from their scale (cool, warm, warmer) Duke seems to be in really good position for Trent, Bamba, and Carter.

*note: Michael Porter announced his final five and did not include Duke so he was removed from voting.

After the 2016-17 season, the Blue Devils will definitely lose Amile Jefferson and Matt Jones to graduation. The odds are very high that Grayson Allen, Harry Giles, and Jayson Tatum will enter the NBA Draft. Depending on how their season goes, they could also lose Marques Bolden and Frank Jackson to the draft. That’s potentially seven players gone after this upcoming season leaving a lot of roster spots available.

Over a third of you voted that you believe Wendell Carter will be the next to commit to Duke:
