MAUI, Hawaii – The Duke men’s basketball program will be part of an historic field at the 2018 Maui Invitational, as the nation’s premier early-season event will feature eight Division I teams for the first time.
The Blue Devils will be joined by Arizona, Auburn, Gonzaga, Illinois, Iowa State, San Diego State and Xavier. Host Chaminade will remain a part of the tournament as it will play on the mainland in the Maui Invitational Opening Round.
Duke will make its sixth Maui Invitational appearance in 2018. The Blue Devils have won the event in each of their five previous trips (1992, 1997, 2001, 2007 and 2011) and own the record for Maui Invitational championships.
The 2018 Maui Invitational will be played Nov. 19-21 at the famed Lahaina Civic Center. All 12 games will be telecast by the ESPN family of networks.
