As an incoming freshman, Brandon Ingram will be counted on to serve as a crucial part of the 2015-16 Duke basketball team.
Ingram arrives to Duke as the highest rated recruit in this year’s No. 1 ranked recruiting class for the Blue Devils, and Mike Krzyzewski has already talked about Ingram’s tremendous versatility.
In preparing for his first season of college basketball, Duke Blue Planet put together a “Summer Grind” video that features the 6’9″, 195-pound forward from Kinston, N.C.
Ingram talks about how he’s been adjusting to life on the Duke campus and what he’s been working on, including building his strength and gaining chemistry with his teammates. He also makes me mention of the team’s versatility and how they have the potential to be one of the best defensive teams in the country.
In looking at the roster, you could certainly understand why he’s inclined to say that. With so much length on the perimeter and the experience of Amile Jefferson and Marshall Plumlee, two very underrated frontcourt defenders, this year’s Duke team has the potential to be outstanding on the defensive end of the floor.
And based on his athletic ability, I have a feeling that Brandon Ingram will figure out plenty of ways to also make an impact with his offense.
