The Duke Blue Devils will add a new, virtual element to the Reeds Jewelers Tip-Off Show that can be viewed live on the Duke Men’s Basketball Facebook page.
Beginning at 1 p.m. ET on Saturday, the one-hour show will simulcast the radio version of the Reeds Jewelers Tip-Off Show, while adding multiple live video streams with look-ins from the broadcast booth, courtside and more. The show will preview the Blue Devils’ season opener versus Coppin State at 2 p.m. at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Saturday’s tip-off show includes pregame conversations from John Roth and Chris Edwards, as well as interviews with assistant coach Chris Carrawell, graduate student Patrick Tapé and women’s basketball head coach Kara Lawson, who began her collegiate coaching career with a win over Longwood this past Wednesday.
The Reeds Jewelers Tip-Off Show can also be heard live on 96.5 FM and 620 AM in Durham via the TuneIn app and across the Blue Devil Sports Network from Learfield IMG College.
The new pregame element is one of a number of game day enhancements for this season, as Duke Athletics looks to bring fans who cannot attend games due to the COVID-19 pandemic closer to the action. Duke announced in November that the men’s basketball season will begin with no fans at games in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Blue Devils will are slated to follow Saturday’s contest with five consecutive home games, led off by a matchup with Michigan State on Tuesday, Dec. 1 for the 2020 State Farm Champions Classic. Duke will then host two games in the Mako Medical Duke Classic Honoring Dr. Onye E. Akwari – Friday, Dec. 4 versus Bellarmine and Sunday, Dec. 6 versus Elon. Illinois will come to Cameron Indoor for the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Tuesday, Dec. 8, before the home stand concludes against Charleston Southern on Saturday, Dec. 12.
