Nolan Smith Tapped to Teamworks Leadership Committee

Duke Basketball Director of Operations Nolan Smith is one of 11 named to the inaugural Teamworks Basketball Leadership Committee.

The committee, comprised of the most forward-thinking Teamworks partners from around the country, will converge on Teamworks’ headquarters in Durham July 15-17 to help shape the future of athlete engagement and drive the development of best practices throughout the athletics industry.

Bringing together leaders from the NCAA Division I basketball landscape, representing 11 universities and seven conferences, the committee will also explore ways to engage and empower the student-athletes of today and rising generations.

Teamworks is a leading provider of collaboration software for athletic organizations based in Durham, N.C. Founded in 2004 by former Duke Football player Zach Maurides, Teamworks has helped athletic teams, departments, and organizations across the country improve the way they share information and communicate.

A former Duke All-American, Smith joined the Blue Devils’ staff in February 2016 and was promoted to Director of Basketball Operations following a two-year stint as Special Assistant.

A consensus first-team All-American and ACC Player of the Year in 2011, Smith helped lead Duke to three consecutive ACC championships (2009-11) and the 2010 NCAA title during his tenure as a student-athlete.

The other 10 invitees are: Brandon Crone (Butler), Maryann Baker (Mississippi State), David Egelhoff (Ohio State), Arnika Edwards (Dayton), David Thomas (Michigan State), Christina Gilbert (UMKC), Adam Fletcher (Illinois), Steve Yang (Georgetown), Micah Byars (Iowa State), Katie Capps (Notre Dame).
