With that said, we are presenting our bracket and how Duke wins the National Championship. While not our intention while filling out our bracket, we ended up with a bracket for the ages!
In the first round, we have Duke easily beating the winner of today’s NCCU vs NDSU game. In the second round, Duke beats a Johnny Dawkins coached UCF team. Will Duke know what to do with 7’6 Tacko Fall? In the end it won’t matter as Duke will roll past the Knights, as Coach K doesn’t lose to his proteges.
After a few days off, Duke picks up the winning again as they get a revenge win on Virginia Tech, who rolled by Vermont and just escaped with a win versus a scrappy Liberty team. After this satisfying win, Duke gets pasts a well-coached Michigan State team to advance once again to the Final Four, the 13th for Coach K. Not only will it be Coach K’s 13th Final Four, but one that puts him in the sole lead of most Final Fours over UCLA coaching legend John Wooden.
It’s Final Four weekend and Duke faces an old foe in the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan is still high off their victory over #1 Seed Gonzaga, but has nothing left in the tank as Duke beats Michigan by an almost comfortable 10 points.
It’s Monday night and Duke is now ready to face of against arch rival…UNC. That’s right, it’s never happened before, but this is the year we get Duke vs UNC in the National Championship game. North Carolina beat fellow blue-blood Kentucky in the Elite Eight to face-off against Purdue in the Final Four game. In another instant classic, Duke beats UNC in a back-and-forth battle that goes into overtime (and gives us all heart attacks) to become the 2019 National Champions!
