President Obama continued his annual tradition of filling out a NCAA Tournament bracket and, as usual, his bracket looks relatively similar to many others around the country – including having Duke in the Final Four.
The President, who goes through the bracket with Andy Katz of ESPN, joined many college basketball fans in picking the Kentucky Wildcats to win the national championship.
Obama’s Final Four picks are Kentucky, Arizona, Villanova, and Duke, and his bracket, which you can see in its entirety here, is quite chalky.
He has the Blue Devils advancing to the Final Four out of the South Region by defeating Iowa State in the Elite Eight – a matchup many are projecting and a game that would be highly entertaining, considering the style of play both teams like to use.
Our poll question this week looks at whether or not you think Duke and Kentucky will face off in the championship game, and it looks like the President disagrees with that prediction, as he has Jay Wright’s Villanova Wildcats eliminating the Blue Devils in the Final Four.
Obama is looking to snap a drought of correctly picking the national champion after failing to pick the winner for the past five years. I can relate, Mr. President. His last correct national champion prediction was when the Commander in Chief picked North Carolina to cut down the nets in 2009.
