Hood stated, “I want to thank Coach K, the entire coaching staff, my teammates and everyone involved with the Duke program for giving me this opportunity,” said Hood. “Playing at Duke was a lifelong dream. Everything I experienced here has helped me grow and develop as a player and as a person. The fan support during the year I sat out and the year I played was something that I will remember for a lifetime. Now it is time to move on to the next level and chase my dream of becoming an NBA player. Duke played a large part in preparing me for this step and I am looking forward to making the most of it.”
In his lone season at Duke, Rodney Hood averaged nearly 16.5 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists per game while shooting 47% from the field. He also was selected to the All-ACC Second Team by the coaches and media. The latest mock draft from DraftExpress.com has Hood going 22nd overall to the Dallas Mavericks. Chad Ford of ESPN (paid) has Hood as the 16th best prospect in the upcoming draft.
