Poll: More Important to Duke Football’s Success This Season – Offense or Defense?

While Duke has lost several key members on both sides off the ball (Brandon Connette, Juwan Thompson, Jela Duncan on offense…Kenny Anunike, Ross Cockrell on defense), they will also be brining back several stars as well.

They showed last year in several games (Pitt, Miami, Texas A&M) they can put up a lot of points, but they can quickly give up a lot of points as well. They say defense wins championships but is that so in Duke’s case? Which side of the ball do you think will be more important to the team’s success this season – offense or defense? Let us know in the poll below!

  1. DEFENSE! Duke has had plenty of offense in the Cutcliffe era and there’s no reason to not expect that to continue. After last year experience, our pass defense should be solid. The d-line is key. If we can limit the run game and get pressure on the qb, we can have a game changing defense. Nothing could be more thrilling to me than to see the ghosts of the Iron Dukes run again!
